Textile & Design Technology
The subject seeks to create interest and creativity in issues surrounding clothing and textiles in terms of production and usage. It allows students to acquire skills to solve problems in practical situations and display entrepreneurial skills in managing resources and explore efficient use of locally available resources. We strive to develop skills for the classroom as well as self-reliance

Art & Design
The Art and Design subject area is a practical subject housed under the Practical’s Department. The subject area seeks to train teachers who will teach Art and Design effectively in the countries’ secondary schools. It is the subject areas wish to train teachers who are competent, knowledgeable and capable of building the nation through the various skills they will have acquired in their three years of teacher training.

The art and design teacher shall also be 5.0 compliant after having been taken through the vision and mission of the ministries’ mantra. The graduates of this course will be competent in various areas that can create self-employment or serve in different digital work spaces. The course also offers entrepreneurial skills that help in the development of the nation at large in terms of human capital development.
The course outlines have the strength to produce self-starters and motivated individuals that can survive in all economic environs. This subject is a must take for those individuals who have the flair to creativity in the digital and creative world.

All components of the courses will be started at the most basic level to cater for those individuals who may not have had an opportunity study Art and Design at grassroots.

Physical Education & Foundations Of Sport
The subject area falls under the Department of Practicals. It covers both the Practicum and Theory of Physical Education. Students learn various sporting activities such as tennis, cricket, basketball, swimming, netball, soccer and volleyball among others.
The subject is offered under the Post O’ Level Three (3) Year Course.
Course Components
The subject area offers various learning areas to its candidates that include History and Foundations of Physical Education and Sport, Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Management, Testing, Measurement and Evaluation, and Coaching among others.

Music
There are Two main subjects offered i.e:
1. History and theory of music (HTM) which encompasses History of African and Western art Music and Theory of Music or Tonic Solfa
2. Music Appreciation and Performance which encompasses Methods of Teaching Music, and Performance Proficiency in piano/keyboard, guitar, marimba, mbira, and the voice
The Subject aims to produce teachers that are:
- Able to read and write music
- Able to embrace music technology and are relevant to the dynamic global trends
- Able to apply relevant and professional music teaching methods and techniques
- Able to compose, perform and record music in a studio set-up
- Versatile in playing musical instruments (guitar, piano/keyboard, marimba, mbira, etc), and the voice

  • Science of materials and quantity surveying.
  • Computer aided design and Site Surveying
  • Bricklaying Practical (at college and construction sites)
  • Trade test (bricklaying)

To undertake Building Technology and Design as a subject one has to have at least 5 Ordinary Level passes including English and Mathematics, a Science subject, Building Technology and Design and any other subject. Love and flair for the subject will also help would be students to enroll.
